Description

The Looket G8 is a fast and effiecent in-car sat nav device in a compact and slim design with a clear 3.5 inch touch screen. Running on a Windows CE.NET operating system the LooketG8 runs as powerful and flexible GPS unit that is fully upgradable even to the point of being able to install and run software and maps found on other satnavs such as TomTom.

Providing the usual voice and visual guidance, the Looket G8 ensures you reach your destination with ease using the turn-by-turn audio and map navigator. Built-into the Looket G8 is a powerful SiRF star III GPS chipset receiver providing high sensitivity and fast satellite lock-on for quicker navigation.

The Looket G8 includes mapping for the United Kingdom and Ireland, support for multiple languages, an MP3 Music player and digital photo displayer. On the exterior you'll find an SD/MMC memory card expandsion slot, mini USB port, 3.5mm stereo headphone socket and a port for an external GPS antenna.

As an upgrade on the Looket G7 model, the G8 also offers an optional built-in TMC version which supports up-to-date traffic information using the radio Traffic Messaging Channel service where available.

"Excellent, well made device. Free update to latest maps (UK and NI) and software via the Looket website. Good signal sensistivity and fast recalculation of routes. Able to add speedcams as POIs. I convert mine from a MioMap format (MTC) to TomTom format (OV2) and then to Looket (UPI)format (seems to work fine. For £55 at Misco, 5 star value." Rated:
