Description

The RAC 200 GPS unit is one such device, designed to get you to your destination safely and on time by calculating the shortest and quickest routes from a full 7 digit postcode or simple address search using the SMS style Fuzzy Search feature.

Offering a 3.5 inch colour tough screen capable of 2D and 3D map display modes for improved visual navigation and step by step voice instructions, the RAC200 also comes user friendly Route 66 Navigation software and up-to-date maps of the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland provided by NAVTEQ.

The RAC 200 satnav features auto re-routing for missed turnings, customizable screens like display values, colours, 3D angles and thousands of points of interests (POI) with the ability to store your own favourite locations. It also comes pre-loaded with fixed speed safety camera locations.

"Very dissapointed as there are no map updates!!! About as useful as a bucket of water with a hole! Spend a few quid extra and buy a Tom Tom or similar. Halfords do some cracking deals. RAC inform me that Route 66 launch an update CD every two years and it could be yours for £29.99!!! Great way of making money. Also the touch screen is very sensative and its very easy to delete the data contained on the SD card as I found to my horror! Looks quite dated now compared to whats out there. You can only charge it using the 12v socket in your car and not the cigar lighter or mains supply indoors." Rated:

"Next to useless sends you down country lanes, even when set as large lorry, this also applies when dual carriage ways and main roads are 300yds away Speed camera updates again useless always out of date, also picks up cameras on adjacent roads. No Map updates and from day one they were hopeless completely out of date showing roundabouts where traffic lights are and vice versa. Use only with great care and do not rely on it use in conjunction with roads signs. Better still get a proper SAT NAV that can have maps and camera info updated daily via satalite link." Rated:
