The TomTom GO 520 T (Traffic Edition) is identical to the regular TomTom GO 520 except that it comes with the addition of an RDS-TMC Traffic Receiver add-on which is used to pickup free traffic information via radio using the Traffic Message Channel (TMC). This eliminates the subscription fees and charges involved with using a mobile phone to retrieve traffic updates.

If you decide traffic updates aren't necessary right now, you can purchase the standard TomTom GO 520 and buy the RDS-TMC Traffic Receiver separately at a later date, though this may work out more expensive depending on what offers are available at the time.

The TomTom GO 520T has been designed to focus on safety and even easier navigation, with a whole host of other advanced features. A 4.3 inch widescreen improves your view of where you are and makes selecting options using the touch display simpler and quicker, and with the day or night light sensor the screen brightness automatically adjusts for a clearer view at all times.

The TomTom GO 520 Traffic comes with road maps of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland, along with TomTom's Map Share technology enabling you to personalise your maps instantly by adding and updating them. These changes can then be automatically shared among other Tom-Tom user community making them more accurate and up-to-date.
