The TomTom GO 720 T (Traffic Edition) is identical to the regular TomTom GO 720 except that it comes with the addition of an RDS-TMC Traffic Receiver add-on which is used to pickup free traffic information via radio using the Traffic Message Channel (TMC). This eliminates the subscription fees and charges involved with using a mobile phone to retrieve traffic updates.

If you decide traffic updates aren't necessary right now, you can purchase the standard TomTom GO 720 and buy the RDS-TMC Traffic Receiver separately at a later date, though this may work out more expensive depending on what offers are available at the time.
